Tampa Bay Bridge Dolphins

This was the project that demanded we finally leave our dusty garage! Otherwise, where in the world do you work on six twenty-foot dolphins?

First began the design work. Our in house artisans were given a concept from a set of construction documents. The client wanted the dolphins to leap and play along a foot path that led under and around the on and off ramps of the Tampa Bay Bridge. Our artists jumped (no pun intended) at the chance to do such a fun playful project. It also didn’t hurt that someone was going to have to spend a few days at the beach doing research!

Once the dolphins were designed using our 3D computer rendered drawings, the client had the ability to see what would be made before we ever began our CNC router milling process. Any revisions they needed were complete and they were satisfied that they would get exactly what they could see in the renderings.

A few short weeks later the dolphins left our shop, and began making their way out to the Bay!
